Sources: Szoboszlai key to blocking Man City January deal
RB Leipzig are reluctant to let Dani Olmo leave the club in January amid fresh interest from Man City, sources have told Football Insider.
The treble-winners, as well as Arsenal and Chelsea, have been linked with the 25-year-old in recent days as the winter window approaches.
Olmo was a target for Pep Guardiola’s side in the summer but a formal move failed to materialise.
It is believed Leipzig blocked a potential move for the attacking midfielder having already lost the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Josko Gvardiol and Dominik Szoboszlai to Premier League clubs.
That decision has paid dividends for the Bundesliga side, with Olmo notching five goals and one assist in his first four games of the 2023-24 campaign.
He has since picked up a knee injury but is expected to return to action imminently.

Olmo notched five goals and 11 assists across 31 appearances in all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign.
The midfielder is under contract at Leipzig until June 2027 after penning renewed terms back in June.
He will be hoping to put on a show for potential suitors if Spain reach the European Championships in Germany next year.
The 25-year-old has amassed 32 caps for his country, notching seven goals and seven assists.
Man City signed midfield duo Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes in the summer window after losing key man Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer in June.
The treble-winners sit third in the Premier League after back-to-back defeats against Wolves and Arsenal in their most recent games.
In other news, midfielder is likely to leave Man City after latest development.
