Bernardo Silva to complete 'dream' move from Man City after deal agreed - Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Bernardo Silva may have asked for a release clause in his new Man City contract.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested such an agreement will allow the 29-year-old to make a “dream” move to Barcelona next summer.
Silva signed a new three-year deal at the club on Tuesday (22 August) – with his previous contract set to expire in 2025 – and this was announced on Wednesday.
The Portugal international has been the subject of widely reported long-term interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Silva played a huge role for the treble-winners in the 2022-23 campaign, notching seven goals and eight assists in 55 appearances across all competitions.
He joined Man City in 2017 and has made 308 appearances for the club, winning a host of trophies – including five Premier League titles.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Bernardo Silva has probably asked for a release clause to give his dream club, Barcelona, the chance to sign him next summer.
“It’s giving Man City the perfect scenario. They get one more year of Silva in the side, and they get one more year to find a replacement for him in the team.
“I think it suits all parties, and it won’t surprise me if he does make that move to Barcelona in the next couple of years.
“At 30 or 31 years old, Man City are going to get a fair deal for him as well.”
