Agbonlahor suggests potential Liverpool 'disaster' amid '100%' claim
Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Liverpool to “rotate a lot” for Europa League games this season with the Premier League “100%” the priority competition.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, backed the likes of Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones to play a big role for Jurgen Klopp’s side in Europe this term.
Liverpool play their first Europa League group game against LASK Linz on Thursday (21 September) – their first match in the competition since losing in the final against Sevilla in 2016.
The Reds will also face Union Saint-Gilloise and Toulouse in Group E.
Klopp’s side have started strongly in the 2023-24 campaign, beating Newcastle and Aston Villa to claim 13 points from a possible 15 to start the season.
The Merseysiders face West Ham in the English top-flight on Sunday (24 September) – less than 72 hours after the clash in Austria.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “The Premier League has to be the priority, 100%.
“It can be difficult to win the Europa League. They might feel they are the favourites, but if you put everything into it and don’t win it – and then miss out on the top four – it’s a disaster.
“They’ve got players like Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott who will play a lot in the Europa League, I’d imagine.
“They have to rotate a lot for the European games.
“Premier League has to be the priority because finishing in the top four is the minimum for Liverpool this season.”
