Agbonlahor: Tottenham told to complete Toney signing 'today' after bombshell
Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Tottenham to sign Brentford star Ivan Toney “today” after Thomas Frank opened the door to a potential exit.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Richarlison and Brennan Johnson aren’t out-and-out strikers and insisted missing out on a centre-forward in January could cost Spurs a top-four finish.
Speaking on Sky Sports (18 September), Brentford boss Frank has admitted Toney could leave the club “for the right price”.
Frank claimed he is expecting offers for the England international in January ahead of his return to competitive action on 17 January.
Toney has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham after netting 21 goals in 35 appearances last season.
He has managed 32 strikes in 68 total appearances in the Premier League and has an impeccable 93.5% career record from the penalty spot.

The forward has returned to training recently after being banned from all football-related activities for a breach of the FA’s gambling rules.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “If I’m Spurs, I’m wanting this done now.
“They should get it all done, agreed today – and then he comes in on 1 January and plays towards the end of the month.
“Spurs need an out-and-out striker. Johnson and Richarlison aren’t the answer, they are players who can fill in on the left and right.
“Toney is an outstanding player, and imagine the service he’d get – especially from Maddison.
“They’ve got to make sure this happens because look out there – who else is available?
“It could be what costs them top four in the end, not having a top striker.”
