Liverpool in the market for 'three central midfielders' amid 'huge' Adrien Rabiot claim - pundit
Liverpool will be in the market for two or three central midfielders this summer and should turn their attention towards “excellent” Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
That is the view of former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Liverpool’s plans to overhaul their midfield in the summer.
Football Insider sources revealed on Wednesday (8 March) that Liverpool have joined Man City and Man United in the race to sign Rabiot this summer.
The 27-year-old midfielder is out of contract this summer and is looking to leave Juventus after spending four seasons with the Italian giants.
This site’s sources reveal Rabiot is hunting a “huge” contract this summer to take full advantage of his free-agent status.
McManus believes that Liverpool need more “energy” in their ageing midfield department and backed Rabiot to be a good signing for the Reds.

“I think Rabiot is excellent,” McManus told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“Liverpool are going to be in the market for two, maybe three central midfield players this summer.
“Guys like [Jordan] Henderson, [James] Milner, Thiago and Fabinho are all getting on and I think they need more energy and more legs in there.
“I don’t think Rabiot is a box-to-box central midfield player, I see him as more of a playmaker during his time at Juventus and PSG.
“But I rate him very, very highly.
“He’s 27 years old so still at a good age, and he’ll be keen to leave Juventus with the ongoing crisis.”
