Pundit can't believe Man United could be signing Tammy Abraham after's source reveal
Tammy Abraham is “not the right option” for Man United this summer and they should look for a “higher-quality” striker.
That is the view of former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Man United’s hunt for a new centre-forward.
Football Insider sources revealed on Sunday (5 March) that Abraham is part of a four-man striker shortlist for United alongside Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko.
It is understood that Roma are demanding £70million for Abraham‘s signature, with Chelsea owning a buy-back clause for a similar amount.
The 25-year-old has scored 34 goals in 88 appearances for the Italian outfit since joining them in 2021 for £34million.
McManus believes Abraham is better than the current batch of forwards at Old Trafford but wouldn’t be able to deliver the high standards expected at Old Trafford.

“I really don’t know about this one, I’m not so sure he can cut it Man United,” McManus told Football Insider.
“I think he is better than [Wout] Weghorst and what United have at the moment.
“But he’s not the right option for Man United, a club that needs a striker getting 25 goals a season.
“He’s done well at Roma and won the Europa Conference League last season in Italy, and I think he’s been pretty successful.
“But he wasn’t a regular at Chelsea, went on loan a few times and had a good stint at Aston Villa, but I don’t know if he’s the man to lead the line for Man United.
“They should be looking for a higher-quality striker.“
