Pundit makes 'massive' Man City claim after source's £90m Ansu Fati reveal - 'from what I know...'

Man City should trust Pep Guardiola and sign Ansu Fati despite the Barcelona star’s ‘massive’ £90million price tag.

That is the view of former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the Spaniard’s impressive record in the transfer market.

Football Insider sources revealed earlier this month (2 April) that Barcelona have placed a £90m valuation on Man City target Fati.

The Premier League champions are in the market for a new midfielder this summer, with club captain Ilkay Gundogan set to depart at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Fati has emerged as a future star for Barcelona this season, but he remains frustrated about his lack of game time at Camp Nou, which has alerted City to his availability.

McManus believes Guardiola has proved with Jack Grealish that he can handle players with ‘massive’ price tags, and therefore Fati would be a good signing for hte Manchester club.

I imagine Guardiola probably knows Fati well from Barcelona, and he is clearly confident that he fits into his system,” McManus told Football Insider.

From what I’ve seen, he is very, very good for his age.

A £90million price tag is massive, and it applies huge pressure, but I think you’ve got to trust Guardiola.

He very rarely gets it wrong in the transfer market.

Even Jack Grealish, who I thought was overpriced at £100million, I see he’s now playing really well because of the coaching and instructions given by Guardiola.

Fati can be the same, and he looks like he’s a Man City type of player – a tricky forward, very technically gifted.
