Liverpool tipped to complete two summer deals amid 'mind-blowing' claim - pundit
Liverpool should sign two quality midfielders this summer to help solve their ‘mind-blowing’ inconsistency this season.
That is the view of former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Liverpool’s unpredictable form this season.
The Reds currently sit eighth in the Premier League table after enduring a frustrating season of results, but Jurgen Klopp‘s side have still shown their world-class quality in glimpses.
They beat Bournemouth 9-0 earlier this season, and have enjoyed huge 7-0 and 6-1 wins over Man United and Leeds United in recent weeks.
But bizarrely, Liverpool failed to win any of their five games in between their one-sided wins over United and Leeds.
McManus believes two midfield signings could help Liverpool overcome their inconsistency this season, with the Reds lacking a ‘buzz’ they once had under Klopp.

“I still think Klopp will find the inconsistency concerning,” McManus told Football Insider.
“Liverpool have proven that they’re very capable on their day, but the inconsistency this season has been mind-blowing.
“We’ve seen them blow teams away but then a week later they look like they can’t score.
“They don’t seem to have that energy or buzz about them than when Klopp first came in and maybe that’s because of the ageing players in the midfield.
“They really need to strengthen the middle of the park, they need two quality midfield signings.
“I think Liverpool fans are just wanting the season done now, just over and done with so they can get to the summer and add some more quality to their midfield.“
