Moyes tipped to unleash Traore at West Ham after source's £18m update - pundit
Alex McLeish has suggested West Ham boss David Moyes could reignite the career of Wolves winger Adama Traore.
The former Scotland and Birmingham boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 25-year-old “unlocked his full potential” under the stewardship of Nuno Espirito Santo but has now regressed.
As reported by The Telegraph on Sunday (2 January), West Ham are considering a potential move for Traore this month – with Tottenham also interested.
A Wolves source has told Football Insider (5 January) the winger is available for just £18million in the January window after being valued at £50m in August.
McLeish insisted that although the Spain international has “regressed” this season, he is still “dangerous” when on his game.
“Moyes could be the person to get him back to that form he showed under Nuno a couple of seasons ago,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.

“Bruno Lage isn’t fancying him to be a starter right now, but Nuno got the best out of Traore by putting his confidence in him.
“He really unlocked his full potential and silenced the critics who were doubting his end product. He’s now seemed to regress a wee bit.
“Traore still isn’t the best in front of goal by any means, but by God – he’s dangerous when he’s on his game.”
Traore has started just 10 of Wolves’ 19 Premier League games this season and is out of contract at Molineux in June 2023.
His best return came during the 2019/20 season under Espirito Santo – where he netted six and registered 12 assists.
West Ham sit fifth in the Premier League.
The winter transfer window slams shut at 11pm on 31 January.
