Sources: Wolves three-man signing plan revealed
Wolves are likely to use some of the funds from a potential exit for Matheus Nunes to strengthen in the final days of the transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Molineux club are reluctant to lose the Portugal international – but could sacrifice him in order to improve the spine of the side before Friday’s (1 September) deadline.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (28 August) that Man City are closing in on the signing of Wolves midfielder Nunes, 24, as the transfer deadline approaches.
It is believed the treble-winners are ready to submit a bid of close to £60million after seeing an opening offer rejected.
A well-placed source has revealed that Wolves will then turn attention to signing a striker, central midfielder and centre-back with some of the available funds.
Gary O’Neil’s side have already parted with the likes of Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez and Nathan Collins this summer – raising around £80-90million in sales.

The Midlands club have added just two players to last season’s squad – with Matt Doherty and Tom King joining on free transfers.
