Mills predicts Moyes to build West Ham dynasty after 'big' out-of-window arrival confirmed
Danny Mills has tipped David Moyes to have a long spell as West Ham manager and build a real legacy.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League and England defender delivered his verdict after West Ham confirmed the arrival of Rob Newman as the club’s new head of recruitment.
Football Insider exclusively revealed back on July 7 that the Hammers were in advanced talks with Newman about a move from Man City.
This site then updated on July 13 to reveal that the terms of a deal had been agreed.
He spent 12 years at the Etihad Stadium as City’s international scouting and recruitment manager.
Asked whether Newman’s appointment could mean Moyes is set for an extended spell in east London, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Yes, why not?

“I know Rob Newman, I played with him. He was obviously at Man City for a while, now he’s gone to West Ham.
“As long as the expectations of West Ham stay sensible, and with the current owners I think they will. If you can keep West Ham in the top half and have the occasional dip into Europe I think that keeps the board happy and comfortable. There’s no reason why they can’t.
“It will be a while before David Moyes gets offered another bigger job, I would suggest.
“As long as he keeps doing the business and they have a project that they keep going then certainly there’s no reason why he can’t be there for another four or five seasons at least.”
Newman played over 600 times in his playing and played for clubs including Bristol City, Norwich City and Southend United.
He managed Southend and Cambridge United and also had a spell as assistant at Bournemouth.
