Sources: West Ham agree deal with Dan Rigge after breakthrough in talks

West Ham midfielder Dan Rigge has agreed a new long-term deal at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

Rigge, 17, is highly regarded within the corridors of power at the London Stadium and he is being tipped to push to break into David Moyes’ first-team plans in the near future.

The England youth international had attracted interest from as many as seven Premier League clubs, but he is poised to pledge his future to West Ham.

The two parties have reached an agreement over terms following a breakthrough in talks.

Rigge is a regular for the Irons’ Under-18 side and has notched three goals and one assist in five appearances so far this season.

The 2006-born star signed for West Ham from Man City in 2022, penning scholarship terms in east London.

He is now set to pledge his long-term future to the Irons as he targets a first-team breakthrough.

Rigge made his England Under-16’s debut in April 2022 and has amassed four total caps at that level.

He can play in central midfield, on the left flank and as a central forward.

The youngster is hoping to become the latest West Ham youth product to force his way into Moyes’ plans.

Ben Johnson, Conor Coventry and Devin Mubama are among the current academy graduates to have made the grade.

Declan Rice also advanced through the youth ranks to captain the side before leaving for Arsenal in a club-record £105million deal this summer.

West Ham sit fourth in the Under-18 Premier League and won the FA Youth Cup last season.

Rigge made three appearances in that triumph totalling 12 minutes – and will be keen to make a bigger impression in the competition this term.
