Ex-striker hits back at Keane attack on Kane as Tottenham teammates blasted
Noel Whelan has blasted the rest of the Tottenham attack after Roy Keane ripped into Harry Kane’s display against Chelsea.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds hitman insisted the 28-year-old is not to blame for the lack of goalscoring opportunities.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, Keane slammed Kane and questioned his “body language” on the pitch.
The former Manchester United midfielder claimed Nuno should “drag him off” if “he is not doing his job” up front.
However, Whelan has come to Kane’s defence and insisted his character cannot be questioned.
He suggested other Spurs stars should be in the firing line.

Whelan told Football Insider’s Dylan Childs: “I don’t think we’ll ever question his professionalism, that’s for sure. He’s not that kind of person or that kind of player.
“He’s committed to the club. It’s a club he’s proud of and has done a lot of things for.
“I think you’ve got to look at the whole team rather than picking on an individual. You’ve got to create the chances for him, you’ve got to give him the ball with quality. Get the support around him.
“Let’s not forget they’re up against Chelsea, who I believe are going to be up there this season. Absolutely no doubt about that. They’re an exceptional side.
“They’re well drilled, they’ve got backup there in abundance with the substitutes. I would say, probably, they and Manchester City have the strongest squad in the Premier League by a long stretch.
“Spurs have had injuries but they’re not firing on all cylinders at the minute, that’s for sure. They’ve got to get Harry Kane into the game more.
“Get the support in and around him and create the chances for him. If you create chances for him, you know he’s going to score you goals.”
