Tottenham insider: Skipp will sign 'up to four' new contracts in the next 18 months
Oliver Skipp could sign up to four new Tottenham contracts in the next two years.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On 18 September, The Sun reported Tottenham will hand Skipp a new contract worth £40,000 per week after emerging as a key player under Nuno Espirito Santo.
The midfield sensation, 21, has made six appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season and his current deal is set to expire in 2024.
Wenham claims Tottenham’s system for rewarding youth players could see Skipp sign another new deal as soon as January 2023.
“I think we will see Skipp sign a whole load of new deals in a very short space of time,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“The way Tottenham work with youth players is on an incentive basis. If you play a certain amount of games you will be rewarded with a new deal.
“Harry Winks actually signed four new contracts within 18 months to reward him for his progress. Skipp could do something similar.
“He was probably earning £2,000 per week which is a standard wage for an Under 23 at Tottenham.
“That then went to £10,000 to £20,000 and then £40,000, that’s the way the club works.
“Tottenham aren’t the biggest payers for youth players compared to Chelsea and Man City.
“It keeps players grounded and hungry. Skipp will sign one until 2025 and I wouldn’t be surprised if next January there will be another deal to reflect his continued improvement.”
Skipp has been at Tottenham since 2013.
He has also played for various England youth levels and is a regular for the Under 21s.
