Sources: Leon King to stay at Rangers after English club offers rejected
Rangers defender Leon King is set to stay at the club beyond this window after multiple loan enquiries, sources have told Football Insider.
The Ibrox club were ready to let the 19-year-old move on for the season in order to get regular game time.
Multiple offers came in for King, including from English clubs, but he has now opted to stay in Glasgow.
King, who racked up the most minutes of any teenager in last season’s Champions League, is highly regarded at Ibrox.
He has made 31 appearances for the club and was with the first-team squad throughout pre-season.
King picked up an ankle injury in July and the club confirmed the issue would rule the defender out of action for “a significant period of time”.

Despite the setback in pre-season, King has been named on the bench for six games so far this season although he is yet to feature for the club.
As a result, Michael Beale’s side opted to re-sign Leon Balogun who left the club for QPR last summer following the expiration of his contract.
The defender spent two years with Rangers before his deal came to an end and returned to the club as back up following King’s injury.
On 29 August, Football Insider revealed that the Gers had opened preliminary talks with clubs over a loan move for King with multiple EFL clubs registering their interest in a deal.
The centre-back’s current contract at Ibrox runs until 2026 after putting pen to paper on an extension in December.
