Rangers tipped to sign Joe Aribo replacement after confirmed news - pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed Rangers will need to strengthen their midfield following the exit of Joe Aribo.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Gers defender said outgoing players will dictate the positions the club will look to bolster during the remainder of the transfer window.
On Saturday (9 July), Rangers confirmed the exit of the 25-year-old after three years with the club.
The Nigeria international has joined Southampton on a four-year deal.
The Ibrox club also confirmed (12 July) the signing of Rabbi Matondo, 21, from Schalke 04 on a four-year deal.
Matondo becomes Rangers’ fourth signing of the summer window.

When asked where Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side needed to strengthen, Hutton told Football Insider: It’s a tough one, I think it really depends on outgoings.
“Obviously the likes of Aribo leaving, could there be more? That might make a final decision on where he might like to strengthen.
“I think midfield, he has spoken about wanting to bring somebody else in. I think they are strong in certain areas, they’ve got a lot of cover.
“Again, you talk about this competition to drive the players on, to help each other out to perform at a high level. But midfield seems to be a position that they’ll probably look at.
“Out with that, it will be depending on any outgoings that he’ll need to bring in.“
