Kenny makes 'massive' Burke claim after Sheffield United injury update
Paddy Kenny has suggested Sheffield United could be boosted by the immediate return of Oli Burke from injury.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Blades shot-stopper claimed the 24-year-old has a “massive part to play” and that his setback would not be as bad as first feared.
As quoted by the Sheffield Star (21st September), Slavisa Jokanovic confirmed Burke suffered a bruised heel that saw him replaced at half-time against Southampton.
The Blades drew 2-2 with the Saints but were beaten on penalties.
Burke started the season as a regular but has slipped down the pecking order under Jokanovic.
He has not featured in four of United’s last five matchday squads in the Championship.

Kenny admitted a bruised heel would be uncomfortable for Burke.
However, he suggested the versatile forward might be able to recover in time for this weekend’s clash with Derby County.
Kenny told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Listen, I’m sure it will be sore. It’s a tender area that, I’ve had a bruised heel before.
“It can be quite tender, putting pressure down. I’m sure it’s not as bad as they originally thought.
“They need the full squad this season, it’s not just about the starting XI. I’m sure Burke will play a massive part along the way.
“Whether he’s going to be out at all, who knows? It depends on how bad the extent of the injury is.
“Hopefully it won’t be a long time if he’s going to be out. Like I said, they do need everybody involved this season.”
Burke has made a total of five appearances for the Blades this season but is yet to find the back of the net.
