Sheffield United plan to accept £10m Berge offer - sources
Sheffield United have placed a £10million price tag on the head of midfield star Sander Berge, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Saturday (24 June) that the 25-year-old has his heart set on leaving Bramall Lane – either this summer or as a free agent in 2024.
Berge is out of contract in 12 months’ time and it is believed he is keen to make the most of his free-agent status next year.
But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Sheffield United are keen to recoup a fee for the midfielder by selling him this summer.
There has been no indication or positive negotiations to suggest the Norway international will pen renewed terms at Bramall Lane.
Berge has already been the subject of interest from Premier League and overseas clubs – and Sheffield United could reluctantly sell if their £10million asking price is met.

The Blades have been hamstrung in the summer window thus far due to the ongoing takeover saga at the club – and could have to sell players in order to sanction incomings of their own.
Football Insider revealed on Saturday (24 June) that the Premier League newcomers will also reluctantly listen to offers for forward Iliman Ndiaye.
Berge and Ndiaye were key to Sheffield United’s second-place finish in the 2022-23 campaign.
Berge made 43 appearances across all competitions last term, notching seven goals and six assists.
He has made 109 total appearances for the club since joining for a reported club-record £22million in January 2020, notching 15 goals and 12 assists.
