Burnley and Sheffield United in race to sign Rangers flop Diallo - sources
Premier League newcomers Burnley and Sheffield United are ready to take Man United winger Amad Diallo on loan next season, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Friday (8 July) that Southampton have made contact with Man United about the possibility of loaning the 20-year-old winger for the 2023-24 campaign.
Saints boss Russell Martin is a huge admirer of Diallo and sees him as someone who can fire his side to an immediate Premier League return.
But it is believed that widespread interest across the Premier League and in Europe is likely.
Burnley and Sheffield United are two sides ready to give the Ivory Coast international a chance in England’s top tier following their respective promotions last term.
A well-placed source has also told Football Insider that Sunderland “would love” to have Diallo back at the Stadium of Light next term after his successful loan spell at the club in the 2022-23 campaign.

He managed 14 goals and four assists in 43 appearances across all competitions for the Black Cats as they were beaten in the playoff semi-final by Luton.
Diallo thrived at Sunderland just a season after failing to make a splash in a six-month loan at Rangers in 2022.
The former Atalanta star struggled to perform during his time at Ibrox, notching just three goals in 13 appearances under then-boss Giovani van Bronckhorst.
Diallo, who joined Man United for a reported potential fee of £37million in 2021, is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2025.
He has returned to training for the Red Devils ahead of their first pre-season game against Leeds on Wednesday (12 July) – but now has even more competition following the signing of Mason Mount.
