Finance guru: 'Middle East' takeover on the cards after £3.75bn Man United news
It is likely that the next Man United owners will be from the United States or the Middle East.
That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about to whom the Glazers will eventually sell the Red Devils.
Protests against the American family have gathered pace in recent weeks and months, although Erik ten Hag’s side has rallied on the pitch.
The Daily Mail reported last Sunday (4 September) that £3.75billion could now be enough to wrestle control away from the Glazers.
It is claimed that Dubai’s sovereign wealth fund could be a contender to take over, meaning United would join rivals Man City and Newcastle United in being owned by a limitlessly wealthy Gulf state.
Jim Ratcliffe, Britain’s richest man who failed in a bid to buy Chelsea in May, is also understood to be in the mix.

Plumley assessed the likelihood of a takeover, claiming that United fans will be happy with any new owners so long as the Glazers ousted.
“United are always a club that is going to have resources,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“They’re still very much a big commercial force in their own right and will continue to attract big revenues. Okay, that has dropped off a little bit because of on-pitch performance in recent seasons, but they are still up there.”
“I think money is less of a factor in this regard in some respects. They have spent quite a lot in the last few years. For the fans, it’s the change in ownership that is what they are after.
“But the question then is, who are you getting in with? It would be a different type of owner and motives, and fans will always have their own view on that depending on where the money comes from.
“So, I think it is less about the money with this one. Yes, of course, having more resources is great. But United have been okay in that respect anyway.
“For them, I think it will be more about who is going to be next, and you’re pretty much looking at the Middle East or America at this point.”
