Sources: Luton Town and Coventry City in race to sign Wes Harding
Play-off finalists Luton Town and Coventry City are in a race to sign Rotherham defender Wes Harding on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Championship duo have been closely watching the 26-year-old right-back this season and are preparing to submit contract offers.
Harding is set to leave the Yorkshire club as a free agent at the end of the season after turning down a new deal.
It is understood that a number of clubs, including Luton and Coventry, are keeping tabs on Harding’s situation as they look to strengthen their defensive options ahead of next season.
Luton and Coventry are set to go head-to-head at Wembley on 27 May after winning their respective play-off ties against Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
The lure of Premier League football could be a turning point in the race for Harding’s signature.

Luton have deployed Cody Drameh at right-back this season after signing him on loan from Leeds United, but it is yet to be seen whether the 21-year-old will sign permanently or return to Elland Road this summer.
Harding could be a suitable replacement at right-back, with the Jamaican international impressing at Rotherham in 2022/23.
He has made 46 appearances across all competitions, scoring once and assisting three times in 3,392 minutes of first-team action.
Harding has shown his versatility at Rotherham too, with matches under his belt at centre-back, right-back and right wing-back this season.
