Expert shares 'certain' Liverpool v Everton prediction - 'put your mortgage on it'

There is “absolutely no chance” of Everton pulling off a shock win against Liverpool this weekend.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Toffees’ upcoming game.

Frank Lampard’s side travel to Anfield on Sunday (24 April), looking to build on Wednesday’s (20 April) home draw against Leicester.

The Blues remain one point off the relegation zone but hold a game in hand on 18th-placed Burnley.

A win on Sunday would take them to within one point of fellow strugglers Leeds United.

However, McAvennie is sure this outcome won’t come to fruition.

“Everton have absolutley no chance of getting anything against Liverpool,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“This is a team that went 3-0 up against Man City in about 40 minutes last weekend.

“Put your mortgage on Everton losing, there is no way they go to Anfield and win, I’m certain.

“It’s a free hit for Lampard so he should try and make it count. He won’t want to copy what Man United did on Tuesday.

“They need to keep it respectful and try to stay in the game. Everton can’t afford to be hammered.

“That would shatter their confidence and that is the last thing they need right now.”

Liverpool beat a poor Man United side 4-0 at Anfield on Tuesday evening (19 April).

Everton did win at Anfield last season though the REds were struggling through an injury crisis.
