Mohamed Salah: £225m Liverpool bid revealed after 'encouragement' over world-record deal - sources
Al-Ittihad are plotting a sensational bid for Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah worth £225million before the Saudi Pro League window closes on Thursday, sources have told Football Insider.
The Saudi club had an initial bid of £100million – rising to £150million – turned down late last Thursday night (31 August).
Liverpool have insisted that Salah is not for sale and they have no intention of letting him go this week.
But Al-Ittihad have not ended their interest and they are believed to have had some encouragement from Salah’s camp that he is willing to join.
Al-Ittihad are now preparing to submit a new bid of that, including add-ons, would be worth £225m in total, comfortably making it a world-record transfer fee if accepted.
Saudi Pro League clubs can make signings until 10pm UK time on Thursday.

Liverpool are now not able to bring in a replacement for their star man, who has nearly two more years left on his contract, until January.
Football Insider revealed on 1 September that the Reds considered Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane and tentatively explored a sensational move for him on deadline day, but it was too late to get done.
Salah remains under contract at Anfield until June 2025 after penning a three-year extension last summer (2022).
He earns a reported wage of £350,000-a-week on Merseyside and is Liverpool’s best-paid player.

He has racked up a remarkable 188 goals and 81 assists across 309 games in all competitions for Liverpool since joining from Roma in 2017.
