Pundit issues Brendan Rodgers sack ultimatum as Leicester City chief jets in
Noel Whelan has insisted Brendan Rodgers must lead his Leicester City side to wins against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth in order to save his job.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed recent results are “putting pressure” on the Foxes board to make decisions.
Leicester face Nottingham Forest (3 October) and Bournemouth (8 October) in the space of six days.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (19 September) that the Foxes are sounding out potential replacements for Rodgers – who is on the brink of losing his job.
According to the Daily Mirror (30 September), Leicester owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha will be attending Monday’s (3 October) clash with Forest as the spotlight on Rodgers grows.
The Midlands side sit rock bottom of the Premier League having claimed just one point from their opening seven games.

When asked how many points Rodgers needs from the next two games to save his job, Whelan told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Six.
“The Forest game is a massive one. If you don’t get three points against Forest, that is real pressure.
“The World Cup break is coming up. That’s like coming to Christmas, and they could still be in the mix and cut adrift.
“These are games I’m sure Leicester will have targeted for maximum points.
“I think they’re must win games.
“The pressure’s already on, people are talking, the fans are anxious. That puts pressure on the board to make decisions.
“Rodgers has to get six points from these games to save his job.”
