Agbonlahor can't believe Tottenham could appoint Marco Silva as decision made - 'he's the one'
Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Tottenham to steer clear of Marco Silva and Mauricio Pochettino and appoint former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel to replace Antonio Conte.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 49-year-old German is best-equipped to win trophies with an ageing Spurs squad.
Sources told this site on Monday (13 March) that Fulham are set to pull out all the stops to keep manager Silva – with Tottenham interested in making him their new boss.
This news comes after Football Insider revealed on Saturday (11 March) that Spurs are expected to mutually agree to part ways with Antonio Conte in June.
Silva is not believed to be at the top of the list of replacements – with Pochettino and Tuchel among the frontrunners to take the hot seat.
Spurs remain in the box seat to secure Champions League football next season – with Tuchel keen on taking the job if they secure a top-four finish this term..

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “They’ve got to be so careful.
“We’re hearing all about Pochettino, Tuchel, and now Silva.
“For me, it’s got to be Tuchel. He’s the one.
“Silva has done well this season but he’s got to show it over more than one season before gets a big job like this.
“He’s done outstanding this season but it’s a big step up to a club like Spurs with the expectations they have.
“They need trophies now. The squad they’ve got isn’t getting any younger – and the best available manager is Thomas Tuchel.”
