Mills tips Everton to land two January signings after source's £9m reveal
Danny Mills has backed Everton to land “a couple of bargains” in the January transfer market, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England defender claimed Marcel Brands will also be careful to bring in the right characters.
An Everton source told Football Insider (October 11) they will again be under strict budget constraints in January thanks to Premier League rules.
It is understood James Rodriguez’s exit has freed up £9million but they will target loan deals and cut-price transfers.
The Blues brought in Andros Townsend, Salomon Rondon, Asmir Begovic and Andy Lonergan on free transfers this summer while Demarai Gray arrived for just £1.7million.
Gray and Townsend have made an instant impact at Goodison Park and have already scored eight goals between them across all competitions.

Asked whether Everton could pull off a similar trick in January, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Everton’s recruitment, Marcel Brands, goes far and wide all over Europe.
“Their due diligence is good, they look at the types of characters as well as them being quality players. We’ve seen that’s absolutely vital in what they do.
“If they can pick up a couple of bargains that can drop into that first-team environment then I wouldn’t be surprised if they can get that done.”
Everton suffered their first home defeat of the season against West Ham but Rafa Benitez still has them just five points off the top of the table.
However, they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the third round stage by Championship club Queens Park Rangers.
