Sources: West Ham line up six-figure Aiden McGinlay offer

Crystal Palace have joined West Ham United in the race to sign Partick Thistle sensation Aiden McGinlay, sources have told Football Insider.

The 15-year-old left-sided star has alerted Premier League clubs with his performances for the Scottish club’s Under-16s this season.

West Ham are keeping close tabs on the rising star and now Palace are also dispatching scouts to assess him.

It is believed that West Ham are lining up a six-figure offer for McGinlay as they look to beat their rivals to a deal for the wonderkid.

Partick Thistle are aware of the growing interest in McGinlay and they are bracing themselves from offers from clubs down south.

The Scottish Championship side have seen a conveyor belt of young talent leave the club for England in recent years.

Liam Lindsay, Aidan Fitzpatrick, and Jack Hendry all departed Partick Thistle for six-figure sums in order to ply their trade south of the border.

McGinlay has been named in the latest Scotland Under-16 squad ahead of Victory Shield games against Northern Ireland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland in the coming weeks.

West Ham’s famous academy has been a finishing school for the likes of Declan Rice as well as producing players such as Ben Johnson and Reece Oxford in recent years.

Meanwhile, Palace are gaining notoriety for their youth set-up following the emergence of Tyrick Mitchell and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, among others.
