Sources: Cambridge United in advanced talks to sign Crystal Palace starlet Gordon
Crystal Palace forward John-Kymani Gordon is in advanced talks over a loan move to Cambridge United, sources have told Football Insider.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a successful first loan at Carlisle last season and helped them win promotion to League One.
Gordon, who is highly regarded at Palace, was part of the first-team squad for their pre-season tour of the USA earlier this summer.
A number of EFL clubs have expressed an interest in the young forward, but Cambridge are now poised to win the race for his signature.
Gordon first made an impression at senior level after playing with the first team in winter friendlies against Napoli and Trabzonspor during the mid-season World Cup break last year (2022).
The striker, who has been at Palace for over a decade, earned a new contract at Selhurst Park with those performances and was sent out on his first loan shortly after.

He scored twice in 17 games as Carlisle were promoted to League One via the playoffs.
The youngster also managed eight goals and one assist in 13 games for the Eagles’ youth side in the 2022-23 campaign.
Gordon demonstrated his versatility at both youth and senior level, predominantly playing in a left-wing role but also featuring as a right-winger and striker.
Fellow young forward Luke Plange has also secured a loan move away from Palace, with the 20-year-old joining Carlisle temporarily until January.
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Malcolm Ebiowei were also loaned out by the Croydon outfit last season but currently make up part of Roy Hodgson’s first team.
