Eberechi Eze: Man City blow as Crystal Palace close in on new deal - sources
Crystal Palace are hopeful of tying midfield star Eberechi Eze down to a new contract, sources have told Football Insider.
The 25-year-old’s current deal is set to expire in June 2025.
Eze has become a top Premier League performer this year and has subsequently broken into the England squad ahead of next year’s European Championships.
It is believed that his Three Lions breakthrough has boosted Palace’s chances of keeping the midfielder at the club.
Eze‘s inclusion has shown the ex-QPR star it is possible to play for Gareth Southgate’s side while at Crystal Palace.
Palace have already tied winger Michael Olise down to a new contract at Selhurst Park, fending off interest from Chelsea and Man City.

It is believed top sides are also keeping tabs on Eze.
Football Insider revealed last month (26 August) that Man City are interested in the 25-year-old – who is valued at around £70million.
The treble-winners have since added Matheus Nunes from Wolves but continue to monitor Eze’s situation at Palace.
Eze has made six appearances so far in the 2023-24 campaign, notching one goal and two assists.
He notched 10 goals and four assists in 40 appearances in the 2022-23 campaign as Palace recorded a mid-table finish.
The skilful attacker has now turned out twice for England.
Crystal Palace sit ninth in the Premier League after picking up seven points from five games.
Eze and the Eagles face Fulham on Saturday (23 September).
