Sources: Major Man City update as Eberechi Eze deal could be done soon
Crystal Palace want to tie down Eberechi Eze to a new deal in order to end speculation of a move to Man City, sources have told Football Insider.
Palace also want to prevent Eze from entering the final year of his deal, which currently runs until 2025, when he would be able to agree pre-contract agreements with other clubs from January 2025.
Football Insider revealed earlier this summer (25 August), that the Eagles put a £70million price tag on their prized midfielder in an attempt to fend off interest from elite clubs in the final week of the window.
City had registered their interest in Eze after withdrawing their interest in West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta but he remained at Selhurst Park.
The England international is believed to be settled at Palace but is keen to progress his career after three years in London.
The 25-year-old’s former club QPR would also be entitled to a 20 per cent cut of the fee if Eze does move on in the upcoming windows.

Last term the midfielder made 40 appearances across all competitions with ten goals and four assists in those outings.
Eze was in the starting lineup for 30 of those matches.
Eze has also earned two senior England caps and was included in the squad for their most recent round of Euro 2024 qualifiers, playing 20 minutes in the 4-0 win over Malta.
He was also brought on in the 2-1 win against Scotland in the friendly match earlier this month.
