Sources: Szoboszlai could now block Man United from signing Leipzig star
RB Leizpig will not entertain January offers for striker Lois Openda amid reported interest from Man United and other Premier League clubs, sources have told Football Insider.
The Red Devils, Chelsea and Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old, but the German outfit are reluctant to further weaken their squad after selling numerous key stars in the summer.
Leipzig beat off strong competition to land the Belgium international in the summer window.
The Bundesliga outfit paid a reported club-record initial fee of €43million (£37.1million) to Lens for the striker in July.
And despite Premier League clubs already eyeing a move for his services, Leipzig are ready to resist any offers in the winter window.
The German club lost a number of key players to the Premier League in the summer window, including Dominik Szoboszlai, Josko Gvardiol and Christopher Nkunku.

They are therefore reluctant to weaken their squad any further in January.
Openda has already bagged five goals and one assist in 11 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign.
He signed a long-term contract at the club running until June 2028.
The lightning-quick forward caught the eye of Leipzig after managing 21 goals and four assists in 42 appearances for Lens last season as they reached the Champions League group stages.
He made his senior debut for Belgium in June 2022 and has gone on to notch 11 caps, scoring twice.
Leipzig, who have already won the DFL-Supercup this season, sit sixth in the Bundesliga table.
They are also taking part in the Champions League and fell to a 3-1 group-stage defeat against Man City in their last group-stage outing.
