Campbell hails 'one massive bonus' after Celtic source shares update on Howe talks
The Celtic job would be a starting point for Eddie Howe as the role would give him the necessary experience to take over a bigger club in the future.
That’s according to former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Howe’s options as the Celtic manager’s job remains open.
Earlier this week, a Celtic source told this site on Monday (6th April) club chiefs are worried that Howe is having second thoughts about the role after being offered a ‘wonderful’ deal.
Howe has been linked to several clubs since he left his post at Bournemouth with the Daily Record claiming he has recently knocked back offers from two Premier League sides.
Campbell insists that Celtic remains the most appealing option for Howe as managing the Hoops would give him the necessary experience to take over at a bigger club in the future.
“The most appealing job for Howe is Celtic,” Campbell told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.

“Look at the size of the club. That’s one massive bonus. The fact that they’re challenging every season.
“You don’t really get that opportunity at Bournemouth do you?
“He needs to learn how to handle a big club and Celtic is a really good starting point for him because he’s always been championed to take a big job at some stage.
“He’s never had the opportunity, so that would be a really good apprenticeship for him. Like a stepping stone.”
Howe left Bournemouth at the end of last season as he couldn’t help the club avoid a demotion back to the Championship.
The Hoops have struggled themselves this season and continue to search for the right man to replace Neil Lennon, who left his post in February.
In other news, a Celtic colossus could join a Premier League side for just £5million after a reported update, according to a top pundit.
