Sources: Arsenal ready third Moises Caicedo bid as Brighton asking price revealed
Arsenal are set to return to the negotiating table with a third Moises Caicedo bid, sources have told Football Insider.
Brighton have rejected a second offer from the London giants of £65million plus £5m add-ons, news of which Football Insider first revealed early on Saturday.
Arsenal have not given up hope of landing Caicedo even though Brighton have firmly insisted behind the scenes the midfielder is not for sale this month.
Now, the Premier League leaders are returning with a new bid, expected to be around £70m supplemented by a further £5m of performance-related add-ons.
Brighton could be willing to sell by Tuesday night’s cut-off but are holding out for £80m.
Mikel Arteta has made it clear to the Arsenal hierarchy he wants to bring in a new central midfielder who can instantly slot into his starting XI – even before Thomas Partey was withdrawn through injury against Man City on Friday (27 January).

Chelsea have also expressed an interest in Caicedo, who begged to leave Brighton via Twitter on Friday after news of the Gunners’ interest broke.
The midfielder has reportedly since been told to stay away from training – with manager Roberto Di Zerbi conceding that the club are ready to move forward without his services.
Football Insider revealed on Saturday (28 January) that the Seagulls could accept a new bid for the Ecuador international if they can strike an agreement with RB Leipzig for Amadou Haidara.
Haidara, 24, has been lined up as a potential replacement and has a release clause in his contract which becomes active in the summer window.
Caicedo has made just 26 Premier League appearances but has made a huge impression on England’s top sides – as well as impressing during the World Cup in Qatar last year.
